Last night Taz went to be an hour late because Dad was away and she was being cute. She was pretty tired when she climbed into bed and went down with out a fuss. Her last words to me were "Night-Night mom, sleep tight." I closed her door (we leave a little light on for her) and watched TV for a couple of hours. It was after 11pm when I went in to check on her and turn out her light.
I wished now I had taken a photo of what I found, but didn't want to excite her, so you'll just have to picture it: The punkin was lying with her feet on her pillow, another pillow under her head in the middle of her bed. She had taken her pillowcase off her pillow and had pulled it over her legs like a sleeping bag. Her duvet was on the floor and half-way out of the duvet cover (she had obviously found it too hard to try and pull the whole duvet out and given up). She was lying with her eyes closed, but she had her hand twitching over them. I leaned over her and nuzzled her neck and she convulsed in a fit of giggles. I kissed her again, turned her around so she was lying on the pillow at the head of her bed and turned out her light. She was asleep in less than two minutes.
Its almost 9:30am and she's still asleep. Funny kid.

Church Casual
This is how we roll to church. Did I mention that I made her little dress out of an old shirt of mine?
Taking the Train
Taz loves riding the train. Mack had some leave a week ago, so we decided to take the train into town and get the girls out of the house. It really was alot of fun, and both girls were completely knackered by the time we made it back to the car park. Neither of them fell asleep on the train, but both passed out as soon as we were in the car.

My oldest child gravitates to water like a homing pigeon. She loves it that much. So we decided it would be fun to take her to the musical fountain at the Gateway where the kids put on their cozzies (swimsuits) and run in and out of the water. She refused point blank to play in the fountain, but took great delight in this random puddle. Go figure.

Go Slow
We 're on a go slow at our house at the moment due to the weather playing havoc with my back. There has been a low pressure system that has just been hanging over the Vegas area for a few days now, which has put me in the most foul mood, cause I've been in so much pain. I'm really ready for this trial to be over. So, I've decided to speak to a surgeon to see if they can do the surgery. I'm scared out of my mind in case something goes wrong. But, we'll see. I can't live like this anymore either.

New Trick
Little Miss H's newest milestone was achieved about a week ago, but its taken me this long to finally get a picture of it.

Nice Legs
Mack goes through phases and hobbies like a normal (non-lactose intolerant) person goes through chocolate milk.
His latest is getting in touch with his very distant ancestral roots on his Mother's side - the MacPherson clan of Scotland. So, in their honor he has become a skirt wearing man. But only in the actual clan tartan, and as hard core, biker skirt wearer as possible. I love you sweetie despite your idiosyncrasies.
Oh and did I mention that I find it kinda sexy? Especially when he's toting the tot.

Take My Picture
Taz: Hey Mom, take a picture of me doing my angry face.
Taz: This is my nother angry face.
Priceless.

Summer Fruits
We enjoyed a little of the bounty that summer has to offer on our deck the other day. Some members of the family enjoyed it a little more than others.
Now That You Mention It...
Why yes, that is Dave playing the theme from Mario Bros. on my piano while wearing his shorty wetsuit. Thanks for asking.

Tazism part II
Taz is finally starting to get this whole sharing thing down. Unfortunately its a little miss directed at times. I've already established that she likes to eat her boogers.....well, this morning she was happily going at it. I looked at her and said, "Are you enjoying that my pumpkin?" She turned to me and said, "Uh-huh." Then (and here comes the good part) she stuck her finger up her nose, dug around a little, pulled out a gooey one, extended her finger to me and said, "Mom, would you like to try my booger?"
I politely declined.

Tazism
I took the kids to the park today, and while there, noticed that the Tazling had a nostril sized booger peeking out. I beckoned to her and told her of my desire to remove the booger from her nostril. She promptly stuck her little finger up her nose, dug around a little and pulled out a giant, olive green, gooey, crusty, bloody, booger which she promptly ate. "Yucky!" I proclaimed with a look of disgust on my face. To which she replied, "But to me, it is delish."

All Dressed Up
Taz is going through a no photo phase at the moment. If I try to take her picture she puts her hands in front of her face or pulls the pirate eye at me. Its so annoying when the only thing I have to talk about right now is the cuteness of my kids. Anyway here was my attempt to get some cute, sunday-best photos of the girls. At least I'm still trying and haven't given her up as a lost cause.

Thanks Bobby Jo!
As a thank you to Bobby Jo, the wonderful owner of the cabin, my Mom-in-law asked me to paint a couple of pillows and a table runner. I kind of free styled the design, but matched the colours to the rugs that Bobby Jo had in the cabin. This is how they turned out. I was pretty pleased with the overall effect.

That's my Child
Whilst outside during a little walk today Taz decided she needed to use the loo. "I need to wee-wee." she announced. "Ok, sweetie, hurry, hurry. Lets get back to the house so you can use the toilet." I urged. Before I could do or say anything else, the child had removed her clothes and was squatting on the grass with a stream of pee landing right on her shorts. Luckily her knickers didn't get wet, so I handed little Miss H over to a friend and dashed to help Taz cover her nakedness. I pulled up her panties and told her to run to the front door so we could get her some dry clothes. She did so, and I turned to collect the baby and head home. Before I had even taken two steps, Taz streaked around the corner, her knickers no where to be seen and proclaimed, "I'm naked, I'm naked." Peals of laughter echoed around as my exhibitionist child ran up a flight of stairs doing everything in her power to elude me as I tried to round her up and usher her into the house. I eventually succeeded in getting her inside, but unfortunately that was about the only covering of my childs nakedness I was able to manage for the rest of the afternoon.
Oh to be young again!

The Cabin
Mack's dear mom was cancer free for a year this last week, so to celebrate the family spent the weekend at a cabin just around the corner from the Sundance Resort. The cabin belongs to Mack's parents neighbors who were kind enough to loan it to us. Nice hey?

It was so nice up there. We pretty much spent the weekend eating. Taz and her cousin Elliott played hard at first, and then spent the time getting in each others faces. Good times, good times.
The cabin had five master suites, a basement with a pool table and x-box, a loft for reading, and a lounge with a giant tv and Wii console. The room we stayed in had this ginormo bed (loverly!) which had a little set of stairs you could use to climb into it. Taz thought this was just the best and willingly went down for naps in the huge bed. Because of this bed, I've decided Mack and I need to upgrade to a King.

Moi and the girls - notice the pulled back hair and no make-up. That's how I roll now days.
Sara and Ellie. Taz and Elliott spent a large amount of time naked, having taken their own clothes off, and Sara and I spent a large amount of time trying to put their clothes back on them.
Little Miss H enjoying time with her ma.
Down time was a luxury. Here Jacob enjoys a little read while the kids were napping.
Cecily however decided that this was the best way to chill during nap time. (check out the pump organ in the background.)

Taz enjoyed a little down time with Grammy and Grandad, and then took them for a walk.

Ces and Is chilling on the deck.
