The Cabin

Mack's dear mom was cancer free for a year this last week, so to celebrate the family spent the weekend at a cabin just around the corner from the Sundance Resort. The cabin belongs to Mack's parents neighbors who were kind enough to loan it to us. Nice hey?

It was so nice up there. We pretty much spent the weekend eating. Taz and her cousin Elliott played hard at first, and then spent the time getting in each others faces. Good times, good times.

The cabin had five master suites, a basement with a pool table and x-box, a loft for reading, and a lounge with a giant tv and Wii console. The room we stayed in had this ginormo bed (loverly!) which had a little set of stairs you could use to climb into it. Taz thought this was just the best and willingly went down for naps in the huge bed. Because of this bed, I've decided Mack and I need to upgrade to a King.

Moi and the girls - notice the pulled back hair and no make-up. That's how I roll now days.

Sara and Ellie. Taz and Elliott spent a large amount of time naked, having taken their own clothes off, and Sara and I spent a large amount of time trying to put their clothes back on them.

Little Miss H enjoying time with her ma.

Down time was a luxury. Here Jacob enjoys a little read while the kids were napping.

Cecily however decided that this was the best way to chill during nap time. (check out the pump organ in the background.)

Taz enjoyed a little down time with Grammy and Grandad, and then took them for a walk.

Ces and Is chilling on the deck.

Little Miss H sporting her new hat that Aunty Cecily made.

This Makes Me Smile!

Dangling

Mack called me last night to tell me he was going to be a little bit late.....because the ground had given out under his humvee and it was now dangling precariously on the edge of a ravine. But, I wasn't to worry because he had made it out okay. Seriously. All in a days work right!!!! I think I need a stiff drink now.

My Pad

I've been promising my friend Jenni that I'd post pics of the condo for ages now. I had to take these pics for a different reason, but figured this might be the only time I get photos of my house actually clean. They aren't the best, but you get the gist.

Tazisms

Today my dear first born said to me, "Oh, I just need to take a nap.......in your bed.........naked." And thats exactly what she did.

Now, she's running around chasing a fly, going, "Come on little fly, sit on my finger. Come on little fly. Here's my finger. Come on little fly, come on little fly."

Its too cute for words, but really funny to see how upset she's getting that the fly won't sit on her finger.

Yum!

Take one look at this face and tell me you don't want to eat it up as much as I do?

Like Father Like Daughter

My Pride and Joy

A Grand Day Out

We went to Lagoon with my Brother and his family last week. It was a fun day out. I only got to go on one ride because I was worried what the jostling might do to my back. Oh well.

Ethan hid behind me the first time we went on this ride - the second time though...

This was Taz's favourite by far - mainly because the car was "sparkly blue".

Little Miss H enjoying the air conditioned "mother's room". The rest of the day she just took in her stride.

Pretty as a Picture

Arts and crafts in our house go a little something like this:

Pain, Pain Go Away

The pain drains me and makes it hard to function. I don't have a choice though and function I must. I'm sure Taz senses when I am most low, because those are the days she is the whiniest, clingiest and most uncooperative. I try so hard to be positive through the pain, but every now and then it gets to me. I become resentful, moody and incredibly unpleasant to be around. The people around me don't understand. I don't blame them.

I'm trying to come to terms with this as being my lot in life. I'm trying to find the lessons I'm supposed to be learning from this. The pain consumes my thoughts and blocks out all reason. Sometimes I can handle it. Most of the time though I rage against it in my head. I resent pain free, healthy people. I resent Mack for his ability to move, exercise and play with our kids with a smile on his face.

Normally when I need a release I can have a good cry and feel better. The pain has taken that away from me too. Nothing helps.

I am tired, I am depressed, I am morbid, I am resentful, I am snippy. I apologize.

Watch Me Twirl

This is what happens when the Tazling gets a new "princess ballet skirt". She has her self an all consuming twirl fest!

Ariel 3

My dear little Tazling turned 3 today. Where has the time gone?

She is obsessed with all things Ariel at the moment (as in The Little Mermaid), so we celebrated with an Ariel cake, Ariel doll, and when I asked her how old she is today, her reply naturally was, "Ariel three."

Little Pool of Melted

As I was tucking Taz into bed tonight I gave her a big hug and kiss and told her I loved her. And, for the first time unprompted, she wrapped her little arms around my neck gave me a big kiss and said, "I love you too mommy, so much."

And, I melted.
